How much sleep does a school-age child need?

School-age childs (6–13 years) are generally recommended to get 911 hours of sleep per night, per National Sleep Foundation guidelines.

School schedules often fix wake-up time, so the main lever is bedtime — use the calculator's "what time should I go to bed" mode with your child's required wake time.
